This is the largest indoor waterpark in the northern Hemisphere situated at American Dream, Meadowlands New Jersey. We completed 550sqm for the lazy river element of the project. We completed 3 themed DreamWorks murals that cladded the walls in the Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and The Penguins of Madagascar areas. Time restraints meant that we worked closely with the DreamWorks designers and project management team to consider all challenges within the project brief and by identifying potential issues, we were able to provide solutions in advance.
DreamWorks are a company known for their sense of fun, and their latest project, the American Dream waterpark based in New Jersey, has incorporated all their trademark style and flair to create something truly special. This ambitious project saw Digital Ceramics Custom Tiles called upon to create custom-made tiles for the Lazy River section of the installation.
DreamWorks initially contacted us through our website with a request for tiles that would be ready within a short timeframe while also meeting their rigorous quality standards. Our kiln-fired tiles and colourfast technology passed the test and meant that we fit the bill perfectly, so work began to produce tiles for the three unique sections of the attraction.
The project saw our team create 18,500 tiles which were installed over three sections of the Lazy River feature – an unprecedented project for the studio. The murals are made up of tiles which have been fired at temperatures between 800c and 1250c which creates an unrivalled long-lasting finish for the commercial leisure centre area.
Digital Ceramics Custom Tiles bring their experience and professionalism to every project undertaken, and as such we have been asked to produce further tile projects for the waterfall and wave pool areas of the waterpark. The attraction is also set to include a shopping mall, indoor theme park and a full-sized ice rink. The development is an exciting one and something that we have been thrilled to be a part of.
The digitally printed tiles produced by Digital Ceramics Custom Tiles are highly fade-resistant, waterproof, mould-resistant and scratch-resistant, as well as being durable enough to resist damage from frost, UV light and chemicals such as chlorine.
