New York-based publication Floor Covering News has announced the winners of its FCNovation Awards 2025.
The annual awards, now in the company’s fifth year of presenting them, are given to innovative products and technologies in the floor tile manufacturing industry.
Happy Floors received this year’s award for their new ceramic floor tile range, ‘Coralina’. The designers have used innovative ‘Soft Touch’ technology to overcome the harsh, abrasive feel often found in tiles requiring a high anti-slip rating. Coralina tiles, although boasting an R11 anti-slip rating, have an unusually soft, comfortable texture, and are remarkably easy to clean. Aesthetically, the range has a cool, contemporary look inspired by natural limestone, achieved using advanced tile printing technology. The gentle texture and attractive appearance of the tiles have been obtained without any compromise on safety.
The other winner in the ceramics category this year was MSI. Its ‘Elbe’ porcelain tile range has been produced using ‘TileTouch’ technology. The range has been noted for the realism with which it replicates the tactile textures of natural stone, wood and organic materials. The deeply textured finish allows the appearance of the tiles to subtly transform in response to changes of light. The ‘Elbe’ range thus combines an attractive appearance with the high resilience of porcelain.
