Ceramicist to showcase work at Collect Open 2026

The Crafts Council’s celebrated “Collect” art fair will once again be hosted at its usual venue, Somerset House, providing an opportunity for collectors to view outstanding work by contemporary artists.

The 2026 fair, which will run from February 27 to March 1, is dedicated to showcasing museum-quality craft and design from around the globe.

Innovative ceramics artist Oriel Zinaberg is one of 11 creators invited to exhibit at Collect Open – a special showcase within the Collect fair which provides a platform for artists to create bold, engaging installations which challenge perceptions and push boundaries.

Israeli ceramicist Zinaberg, who currently works from a studio in London, will present an installation consisting of two distinct but related elements: a series of ceramic sculptures inspired by the famous 19th Century “Wally Birds” series, and prefabricated metal plinths created by collaborators ZedWorks Design.

Zinaberg has created 3D custom ceramic tiles to provide cladding for these metal structures. The sculptures and tile-cladded plinths together will form an integrated display, which, according to a comment on his Instagram page, responds “directly to the Grade I-listed fireplace in the space.”

Public and private spaces can be radically transformed by installations of custom ceramic tiles. They combine durability, versatility and artistic value and can become a key element in a design project.
