United Arab Emirates-based company RAK Ceramics’ new tile range RE-USE has been presented with
the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026 in 2 categories: Sustainable Design and Materials & Surfaces Categories.
Today’s ceramic tile manufacturing industry is buzzing with innovation. New tile ranges are designed to meet high aesthetic standards without compromise on sustainability. Minimising the negative effects on the environment has never been more important, with key producers constantly looking for new ways to use recycled materials and reduce their carbon footprint.
Founded in 1989, RAK Ceramics has, like many leading tile producers, put eco-friendliness at the heart of its innovation programme, and the international jury at Red Dot have recognised this by selecting RE-USE for their prestigious annual award.
RE-USE is a porcelain tile range produced with 100% recycled materials. The materials used are ‘pre-consumer’: in other words, resources taken from various ceramic production processes are collected ‘in-factory’ and repurposed into a tile range that meets high performance standards in all categories.
Thought of as highly durable, visually appealing and suited to both commercial and residential settings, RE-USE tiles share the qualities of other porcelain products on the market. Recent innovations by RKA and other key manufacturers are sending a clear message to consumers that sustainability and quality can be entirely compatible.
At Digital Ceramics Custom Tiles, we share the belief that sustainable production methods and high quality go hand in hand.
